I pride myself on trying to take care of my skin, but I recently realized how much I was neglecting my fingernails. Unfortunately, one of the ways my anxiety manifests itself is through picking at my fingers, but at the beginning of this year, I decided to make a conscious effort to start taking better care of them. I began looking online to try to find the best products to do so, and now have my nail care routine that I follow.
Glass Nail File
I find my nails not breaking as easy if I make sure to file them into a rounded shape. One of the problems with traditional nail files though is that they are prone to causing peeling and chipping at the edges of your nails because they leave the seals of the edges open. Glass nail files avoid opening the seals, therefore avoiding any damage. They are also reusable which is great.
Oil
My traditional hand cream wasn’t enough to cut it when it came to making sure my nails and cuticles were properly hydrated, but when I tried to use oils I found that the typical dropper style often resulted in a mess. This oil pen I found on Amazon makes it quick and easy to apply the oil without making a mess. It’s also refillable!
Moisturizing Cream
For even more hydration, I’ll go in after oil with this moisturizing cream. I find that if my hands and nails are moisturized, I’m not as prone to picking at them.
Cotton Gloves
I typically tend to use the oil and cream products before bed at night and wanted to make sure it actually stayed on my hands, so I purchased these cotton gloves on Amazon. They’re great at making sure the product stays put. I’m also guilty of sometimes looking at my phone before bed and these prevent me from getting oil all over my screen!
